Day Hospice

Hairdressers: Volunteers required to provide hairdressing services to patients (in 24 Hour Care and Day Hospice) and, to enhance relaxation and a sense of well being. Approx. 2/3 hours each week.

Drivers

We urgently require drivers to transport Day Care patients to and from the Hospice in our own minibus. Drivers must be available at least one day each week on a regular rota. MIDAS trained drivers preferred or we will train any suitable and willing driver.

Events Team Volunteers

We have lots of events throughout the year when we need extra help. If you like meeting people, enjoy fundraising and would like to join our Events team to help with any of the following types of events, or similar, please contact our Deputy Appeals Manager, Christine Harrop, tel. 0161 624 9984.

Typical events are: Sales Stalls at outside events; acting as Marshalls at events, helping to organise events; selling tickets; distributing posters; Bucket/Can Collections; etc.

Please contact Barry Ulyatt, the Volunteer Co-ordinator, on 0161 624 2727, for further details and an application form for the above posts.

Shops

Our charity shops need volunteers.

Shaw, Royton and Lees Charity Shops: Our shops are open Monday to Friday from 10am to 4pm and Saturday 10am to 1pm. Volunteers, male and female, work to a regular rota system of around 3 hours per session. Some of the shops are on more than one floor and even though some are on one level, a degree of fitness is required as some lifting and sorting of donated goods is involved.

Shop volunteers, please contact our shops manager, Alison, on 01706 290973 for more details.
